SCARF (Safe Caring Achievement Friendship) Day February 2022
On Friday 11th February 2022, children at Hayeswood First School took part in a special ‘Wear your Scarf to School’ day, as part of Children’s Mental Health Week. SCARF is a big part of their health and wellbeing/PSHE curriculum, where they learn about all the things they can do to keep themselves physically and mentally healthy. On this day, children were invited to wear a special or favourite scarf all day in school, and they took part in special activities to help them remember and celebrate SCARF’s important values of Safety, Caring Achievement, Resilience and Friendship. They also used the day to raise funds for Dorset Mind. This is a local charity, which educates, challenges mental health stigma and inequality, and promotes recovery by empowering individuals to develop resilience.
